Mark George

Mark holds an M.B.A. from Stanford Business School. He also holds a B.A. in history from the University of Virginia. He loves skiing, fly-fishing, multiday alpine backpacking treks, and a cold beer at the end of each of those activities. Mark lives in San Francisco with his wife and 3 kids and is avid supporter of Manchester United. He also owns a professional bull riding team that competes on the PBR circuit.

Mark George is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and business leader, currently serving as the founder and Managing Partner of Atacama Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund of funds based in San Francisco. In this role, Mark strategically allocates resources to support emerging venture capital managers on behalf of a family office.

Before establishing Atacama Ventures, Mark honed his expertise in private equity within the same family office in San Francisco. His journey began in the European luxury portfolio where he led a digital transformation at Diptyque, a luxury fragrance brand. Later, Mark transitioned to a the Oakland Athletics, focusing on optimizing the financing model for their ambitious new ballpark project in Las Vegas.

Prior to his tenure in private equity, Mark was an early employee at Bizo, an advertising technology company. As the Head of Enterprise sales, he played a pivotal role in Bizo's trajectory, culminating in its acquisition by LinkedIn in 2014.

In addition, Mark is a board member of Ariat International, a leading footwear and apparel company, and the Texas Rattlers, a professional bull riding team.
