Education

Alessandro is a summa cum laude Economics & Finance graduate of Bocconi University of Milan, Italy and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he actively engaged with the broader Columbia community.

Alessandro is the founder and chairman of the Lorenzo Santo Foundation, a small endowment supporting entrepreneurial youth in their studies.

Professional

I am currently working on a corporate venture capital thesis pooling together Italian SMEs in the food and manufacturing industry to invest in B-round companies looking to scale in Europe from Italy. Last Mile Ventures is also an independent consulting boutique targeting large buyout firms for digital value creation projects. Before starting Last Mile Ventures, Alessandro was a GP with dPixel, a seed-stage, internet-focused, venture capital firm based in Milan, Italy. At dPixel Alessandro focused on originating and managing investments and was instrumental in the success of the Telecom Italia business plan competition (launched by Salvo Mizzi, Class 16).

Prior to joining dPixel, Alessandro worked as a Case Team Leader for Bain & Company, with a focus on industrial companies. He began his career in 2000 in investment banking. Alessandro is commonly portrayed exuberant and natively optimist. He is a keen networker and spends his free time volunteering with the Columbia Business School Alumni club, the Bain Alumni club and NOVA, the organisation connecting Italian MBAs. Alessandro's son shows a promising love for everything farming and industrial, from damp truck to tractors and his wife is his exact opposite forcing him to learn the hard way on negotiating everything.

Fellowship

As a member of Class 15, Alessandro was mentored by Alessandro Piol, founder and partner of Vedanta Capital.
