Andrew Williamson
Andrew holds a BA and a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge and a MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
I'm a Physicist by training, with a PhD in computational materials science. After graduating from Cambridge, I spent the first 10 years of my career leading materials science research and development projects at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. My group developed novel materials for energy applications ranging from photovoltaic cells, to thermoelectric materials, to batteries and fuel cells. I've spent the last 14 years at Physic Ventures, True North Venture Partners and Cambridge Innovation Capital investing in venture-backed companies commercialising technology in the fields of materials, devices, and scientific computation.
