Beau Seil
Beau attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a joint law degree and Master of Business Administration (JD/MBA), as well as a Bachelor of Science in psychology. As an undergraduate he was an NCAA collegiate baseball player.
Beau was selected as one of the 2018 U.S. Eisenhower Fellows.
Over the last 20 years, Beau has spent significant time living in Japan, Hungary, China, India, and Indonesia.
During his career, Beau has worked in multiple roles in Asia and the US to launch innovative VC/PE funds. In 2010, he co-founded Patamar Capital (previously known as Unitus Impact), an early-stage VC fund focused on investing in scalable companies and platforms that significantly improve the lives of low-income people and generate strong financial returns. He has also led Patamar Capital's efforts to establish one of Southeast Asia's first VC funds with a gender-lens investment strategy.
Beau is an impact investing advisor to multiple organizations in the US and Asia, and also sits on various corporate boards, including mClinica.
Immediately prior to launching Patamar Capital, Beau was a Principal at Huntsman Gay Capital Impact, helping to launch the firm's impact investing arm as well as incubating and investing in Micro Benefits - China's first employee benefits company focused on low-income factory workers.
Beau began his career as a principal at Montara Point Investments. In his role, he was responsible for China Venture Finance's on-the-ground fundraising, structuring, and business development efforts while the team attempted to launch China's first venture leasing / venture debt firm. He also worked heavily on fundraising and legal structuring activities for the Sorenson Housing Opportunity Fund, the first dedicated VC fund attempting to build India's affordable housing ecosystem.
As a member of Class 22, Beau served his fellowship at Patamar Capital.
