Collin West
Collin holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, with an emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship, and where he was honored with the prestigious Four Pillars award, bestowed upon four members of each graduating class for embodying the values of the school. Collin earned his bachelor's degree at Southern Methodist University in finance, with Honors.
An avid competitor, he spends his free time taking on adventure races (former national champion), mountain bike trails, and climbing mountains. Additionally, Collin and his team of four broke a Guinness World Record completing the longest expedition across the Arctic Ocean by rowboat, covering over 1,000 miles non-stop and unsupported for 41 days. However, most days Collin and his wife Sunni also find themselves chasing their twin sons and daughter around their neighborhood.
As a Founder and Managing Partner of Ensemble VC, Collin’s passion is around supporting founders as they transition from purely founder-led to team-led organizations and ultimately led Collin to found Ensemble VC.
Collin's prior investments include Zoom Video (NASDAQ: ZM), Carta, Groww, ICON, Tally, Sidecar Health, TBH (Acquired by Facebook), and many others. Previously, Collin was a founder of the Kauffman Fellows VC fund and on the founding fund team at the pioneering data-driven VC firm Correlation Ventures.
An avid competitor, Collin spends his free time training Brazilian jiu-jitsu, mountain biking, and climbing mountains. Collin is the Guinness World Record holder for leading the first-ever crossing of the Arctic Ocean. His team of four rowed non-stop and unsupported for 41 days through the biggest storm season in Arctic history.
A member of Class 17, Collin served his fellowship at Correlation Ventures under the mentorship of Trevor Kienzle.
