Dalton Wright
Dalton earned an MBA from the Wharton Business School and an MA in international studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. As a graduate student, Dalton played a key role in winning a $7M grant to build a national clinical data network for children's hospitals, led by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He earned a BA in finance, summa cum laude, from the University of Utah and was the graduation speaker at the Eccles School of Business convocation.
I have invested in seed-stage startups in the Mountain West USA since 2008 when we launched Kickstart Fund I with a modest $4M in AUM. It was the first seed fund in Utah back then, but we now manage $487M across 6 core seed funds and an opportunities fund. In 2023 I moved my family to Colorado to open an office in Denver and double-down on our investment activity in the state. In addition to Kickstart, I have also helped create Campus Founders Fund and 14 Founders Fund to support nascent founders and investors in the region. Previously, I helped launch Alta Ventures Mexico, one of the early tech funds in Mexico.
Dalton is a member of Class 19 and performed his fellowship at Kickstart Seed Fund. His mentor was Founder and Managing Partner Gavin Christensen.
