
Dipa Mehta
Dipa received her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in entrepreneurship and finance. She also received a certificate from Graduate Program in Health Administration and Policy, an interdisciplinary program between the medical school, public policy school and school of social work. At Booth, Dipa was a LEAD Facilitator, Admissions Fellow, and Co-chair of the Healthcare Group. She received the Chicago Booth Leadership Award of Distinction given annually to the graduating students who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of leadership, student life, and community service while at Booth.
Dipa completed her undergraduate studies from New York University ' Stern School of Business with majors in finance and CPA accounting.
Dipa Mehta is the Co-founder and Managing Partner at Valeo Ventures. Valeo is the investment manager for Cobalt Ventures, the strategic venture capital arm of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. She serves on the boards of Bicycle Health, Handspring Health, MedArrive, and OncoHealth. Currently, Valeo is developing a new venture capital fund in collaboration with hospital systems and health plans to create tailored corporate venturing solutions.
Previously, Dipa led the Corporate Development and Ventures group at Advocate Health Enterprises (AAE), a subsidiary of Advocate Health dedicated to advancing the organization's mission to help people live well by supporting innovative solutions beyond traditional clinical care. She oversaw investments in Foodsmart and Xealth, as well as acquisitions focused on enabling seniors to live independently at home for longer. Dipa was also a Managing Director at Sandbox Industries, a venture capital firm and investment manager for the Blue Venture Fund. During her tenure at Sandbox, she held board positions with Contessa Health, Upward Health, Oncology Analytics, AbleTo, and Lumiata. Earlier in her career, she worked at Amgen Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Amgen, and began her professional journey in the Global Healthcare Group at UBS and the Healthcare Fund at Paul Capital Partners, focusing on late-stage pharmaceutical and biotechnology investments.
Dipa earned her BS from New York University's Stern School of Business and her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she was honored with the Chicago Booth Leadership Award of Distinction. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Kauffman Fellowship, a two-year program for venture capital professionals. Currently, Dipa serves as Investor in Residence at the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship at Booth, advising students and leading workshops and a small group seminar, VC Unplugged.
Dipa resides in Chicago with her husband and twin boys.
Dipa is member of Class 17 and served her fellowship at Amgen Ventures under the mentorship of Janis Naeve and Head of Corporate Development & Strategy Dave Piacquad.
