Jack Crawford
Jack completed Harvard Business School's "Private Equity & Venture Capital" executive program and is a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute. He earned a BS in accounting from Arizona State University and is a CPA.
Jack lives in the Sacramento area with his wife and three children and enjoys golf, swimming, cycling, and running. To establish a culture of fitness in his family and his community, Jack trained and completed 2 full distance Ironman triathlon events, a 50-mile ultra-marathon, and a 200-mile bike race.
Jack Crawford’s 20-year career spans all sides of “company building”—from corporate accounting to entrepreneurship, and now, to VC at Impact Venture Capital.
As a CPA with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Jack helped a wide range of businesses and was inspired to start his own—including one of the first Internet Service Providers in Sacramento. Through the 1990s, Jack built his reputation as a serial entrepreneur in founding three more software companies. He was chosen as the Entrepreneur of the Year by the Money Hunt television show, which aired in 160 US markets.
Jack has taught venture capital as an adjunct professor for multiple MBA programs, including the University of Southern California and the University of Pacific. In 2011, Jack was accepted into the Kauffman Fellows Program, and following graduation in 2013, was provided with a class-voted leadership award. Subsequently, Jack taught his Kauffman Thought Leadership Project—Strategic Planning for Life—to classes in Silicon Valley, New York City, Dubai, and Mexico City.
After managing a multi-million-dollar private equity and venture portfolio for Oracle Corporation, Jack launched Impact Venture Capital with Oracle’s treasurer and Kauffman Fellow classmate, Eric Ball, and Silicon Valley VC icon Dixon Doll. Alongside corporate investors, Impact Venture Capital invests in seed-stage AI companies building next-generation tools in security, finance, and digital health, among other fields. Impact Venture Capital also hosts corporate innovation programs designed to connect market-innovating startups with market-leading corporations. The annual Impact Global Venture Summit attracts 1,000+ attendees annually.
Jack serves as a board member for multiple Impact Venture Capital portfolio companies, including Cornami, TaskHuman, and AscentOS. Jack has also co-invested with some of the world’s most prominent corporate investors including Intel, Zoom, Qualcomm, Applied Materials, Yamaha, Thomson Reuters, Softbank, Kubota, and SK Hynix, as well as top VC firms USVP and Madrona.
Jack is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s “Private Equity & Venture Capital” executive program and a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute. Jack earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Arizona State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in California. Jack lives in Northern California with his wife and three kids, where they enjoy swimming, biking, running, golf, and other sports. As a fitness fanatic, Jack has completed two full-distance Ironman triathlete events, a 200-mile double-century bike race, and a 50-mile ultra-marathon.
Jack served his fellowship at Velocity Venture Capital as a member of Class 16. He serves as mentor to Michael Beaudoin (Class 23).
