Jason Torres

Jason is a Director at Comunilife, a not-for-profit organization that provides healthcare services and supportive housing to vulnerable communities. He co-founded the Amber Charter School Foundation and serves as the board treasurer. Finally, Jason is a volunteer and donor to S.E.O., an organization that provides educational and career programs to young people from underrepresented groups.

Jason graduated magna cum laudefrom Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He received an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Jason P. Torres is CEO of Sana Capital, a healthcare private equity firm that partners with talented and overlooked founders engaged in the information technology and services sectors. Sana invests in growing healthcare businesses that share its charter to increase access, improve outcomes, and reduce costs within select markets. Jason is a passionate healthcare investor and operating executive with nearly twenty years of experience. He has a superior track record of identifying and building successful companies. Much of his success is due to his deep understanding of healthcare policy and his mastery of the business of healthcare. Following an investment, he works closely with leadership to grow the enterprise. Mr. Torres previously co-founded private equity firm Mansa Capital. This firm invested about $50 million in early stage growth companies in the healthcare sector. In addition to serving on the Investment Committee, he led the efforts to build infrastructures for both investment and portfolio management, including accounting, reporting, auditing and investor relations. Moreover, he developed value creation strategies and operational improvements for investments. Jason worked closely with management to grow customers, expand products and reduce risk. Jason has served on the Board of Directors of several private businesses, including Accreon, a healthcare integration and implementation consulting company; RxTE, a prescription cost containment solution for Taft-Hartley workers; and as Director and Audit Committee Chair for BioIQ, a healthcare screening and measurement business for self-insured employers. Jason also served as a Board Observer for two companies, namely Independent Living Systems, a managed long-term care business; and Healthsense, a remote patient monitoring platform for the elderly. Mr. Torres has a distinguished history of public service. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Comunilife, a not-for-profit organization that provides health and human services and a continuum of supportive housing to New Yorkers. He co-founded the Amber Charter School Foundation and serves as its Treasurer. Jason served on the Board of Directors of Acacia Network, a large community-based organization that offers the full spectrum of services in healthcare, housing and substance abuse. After Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated Puerto Rico, Jason activated his network to deliver healthcare relief to the island, where he organized a team of health care professionals to provide critical care at a local hospital. Jason received a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems & Finance, magna cum laude, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Masters of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and is currently a Kauffman Fellow - one of the world's premier innovation, leadership, and venture capital focused programs.
