John Robinson

John has studied financial degrees and worked on his family's farm in Zimbabwe performing various farming roles from agriculture to financial, travelled and worked in London and is now growing and leading a Growth Capital Solutions business within Rand Merchant Bank. He is a proud father and husband, wants to make a difference for his country and family and ensure his children have every opportunity to lead a fulfilling and rewarding life.

John started Growth Capital Solutions within Rand Merchant Bank, a division of FirstRand Bank Limited in South Africa. Prior to that, his career was focused on running the Mid-Market Leveraged Finance business where he advised, developed and structured innovative, multi-disciplinary and integrated financial solutions across the entire debt financing spectrum. John has a passion for working with entrepreneurs to scale their businesses by utilizing his experience of advising, capital structuring, funding and investing. By leveraging his networks, strategic partners and the Bank's distribution channels, John is well placed to assist entrepreneurs with scaling their businesses more optimally than they would otherwise be able to do on their own.

As a member of Class 25, John is serving his fellowship at Rand Merchant Bank under the mentorship of John Edward Ehlers.
