Julie Wroblewski is a leader in venture capital and social innovation. She has served as advisor, strategist, and investor for global leaders, family offices, and foundations, including as an advisor to Melinda Gates and Gates' organizations on strategy and investments for over a decade. Over the last five years, she led the development of the venture capital investment strategy at Pivotal Ventures, an investment and incubation company created by Melinda Gates to advance social progress in the United States. In that role, she launched the company's venture capital strategy, sourced and managed investments to support Pivotal's programmatic strategies, and managed the company's network in venture capital. Together with veteran Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor Joanna Drake and building on work with Pivotal Ventures, Julie has just launched Magnify Ventures, a new venture capital fund founded to partner with early-stage companies who are transforming how modern families and communities live, work, and care for each other. Julie began her career in economic research and financial markets, including as a research associate at the Federal Reserve Bank, before completing a master's degree in public finance at the University of Washington. She is a Kauffman Fellow (Class 22) and resides in Los Angeles.
