Leticia Jauregui Casanueva
Leticia is a champion of gender equality and volunteers time to work with women entrepreneurs and to mentor women professionals. She is an avid crafter and embroiderer who spends Thursday nights at a Cantina knitting with a group of friends. She was born and raised in Mexico City and after short stints living in the US, Europe and Asia, she's settled back in Mexico City with her partner and two dogs.
Leticia graduated with honors from Economics and from International Relations at ITAM, in Mexico City. She earned a M.Sc. in Community Development and a M.Sc. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California Davis. She completed the Graduate Studies Program at Singularity University, holds an Executive Certificate in European Studies from ITAM and is a Certified Community Manager, as well as an EXO Consultant.
Recognized as one of the most powerful women in Mexico by Forbes, Leticia is a serial entrepreneur passionate about financial health, community and technology. She specializes in fintech, insurtech, blockchain and AI applications in different industries to drive innovation. As Immersive Learning Global Lead, her current role at Meta, Leticia is leading a fund dedicated to building an immersive tech ecosystem to help develop the next generation of metaverse creators, fund high quality immersive experiences that transform the way we learn, and increase access to learning through technology. Leticia is also an angel investor and General Partner of LEAP Global Partners, a cross-border fund that invests in Latinx and Latin American founders. She is actively involved in the Mexican startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem and is a member of Mujeres Invirtiendo, WeInvest LatAm and AllRaise. She has a proven track-record as an Independent Board Director of private and public companies as well as non-profit organizations in the US and Mexico, with broad expertise in digital transformation, strategy implementation, talent and governance. During the last 16+ years, Leticia has been focused on disruptive innovation and economic development in emerging markets through several companies and organizations including Crea that has supported and trained over 200,000 women entrepreneurs from marginalized communities in Mexico and Central America.
