Maia Sharpley
A graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Maia earned her MBA from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.
She is an avid skier, has travelled extensively, has lived and worked overseas, is fluent in multiple languages, and is a United States Patent holder.
Maia Sharpley, the founder and managing partner of Odonata Ventures, has been at the forefront of innovation within the education, EdTech, venture, and start-up arenas since the early days of education reform. Maia comes to venture capital as an operator, after many years of conceptualizing, building and running successful businesses around the world. She has a proven track record of developing, optimizing and investing in businesses with robust returns. In addition to the portfolio company Boards that she serves on, Maia is a board member/advisor to multiple (non-investment related) education organizations, including colleges, research think tanks, EdTech accelerators/innovation labs, and start-ups. She is a founder of Innovation for Equity, a nonprofit dedicated to improving outcomes for Black learners of all ages. Maia is multi-lingual, a US Patent Holder, Kauffman Fellow and a graduate of both Trinity College in Hartford and the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.
