Margaret Wu
Margaret holds an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University (where she was a Fried Fellow and Fund Manager for BR Ventures) and a BES in Environment and Business and BSc in Chemistry from the University of Waterloo.
Outside of work, Margaret enjoys strategy board games, is a fitness enthusiast, and basketball fan.
Margaret is a Vice President at Georgian, a growth equity fund investing in business software leveraging applied AI. The firm has a unique approach that combines growth capital with deep machine learning expertise to deliver software to its portfolio. Since joining in 2017, Margaret has supported investments in over a dozen companies and is an active board member or observer at Xanadu, Ritual, TraceLink, TopHat, Tealium, Glooko and Sentient Science.
Prior to joining Georgian, Margaret was a Senior Product Manager at Amazon, where she developed mobile content and user experience strategies for marketers and site merchandisers across Europe. Previous to this, she co-founded a biotech company called Uma Bioseed and served as the Chief Operating Officer at OneSpout, where she held a variety of responsibilities ranging from business development and product management to finance and accounting. Margaret began her career as a consultant in Accenture's technology practice.
As a member of Class 25, Margaret is serving her fellowship at Georgian under the mentorship of Justin LaFayette.
