Megan Holston-Alexander

Megan received her MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business (GSB) and her BA from Clark Atlanta University. She also holds a Certificate in Public Management and Social Innovation from Stanford GSB and an MA in Sociology from the University of Houston. While pursuing her MBA, Megan also spent time at numerous venture capital firms including Foundation Capital, as an investment fellow and Lightspeed Venture Partners, as an MBA associate.

She currently serves on the board of directors at HBCUvc, nonprofit organization that trains students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in venture capital, the Hidden Genius Project and All Stars Helping Kids. Megan also authors the blog A Black Girl in Venture.

Megan Holston-Alexander is a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz where she co-leads the firm’s Cultural Leadership Fund (CLF). CLF launched in 2018 with the mission to connect the world’s greatest cultural leaders to the best new technology companies and engage, empower, and elevate Black builders, shapers and creators on their journey towards excellence in the technology industry.

CLF Fund I was Silicon Valley’s first venture capital fund consisting of 100% African American Limited Partners. To date, CLF has invested in over 65 startups at the intersection of culture and innovation, and across multiple industries including consumer, enterprise, crypto, fintech, and healthcare/biotech. In turn, 100% of management fees and carry associated with the fund are donated to a select group of non-profit organizations that share CLF’s mission. The team also manages the CLF Talent Network which aims to connect Black professionals to the technology industry.

She also co-founded When Founder Met Funder, an annual conference focused on connecting Black female entrepreneurs with peers and investors for networking and skills-building.

Megan’s early career was spent at non-profit organizations and included projects such as conducting research on complex social issues, lecturing at San Jose State University, and managing a nonprofit startup incubator program.

As a member of Class 26, Megan is serving her fellowship at Andreessen Horowitz under the mentorship of Scott Kupor & Jeff Jordan.
