Michael Fanfant
Michael graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Economics and is originally from Seattle, WA. Outside of work, he also serves as the Events & Community Chair at BLCK VC, where he leads a team that creates in-person and online programming to further increase the diversity of venture investors.
Michael is a Partner at Runa Capital, a $200M early stage VC firm that invests in regulated industries, B2B SaaS, and deep tech in the US, Europe, LATAM, and Africa. He primarily focuses on fintech, and vertical B2B SaaS startups in the US, but also invests in fintech companies globally. Michael specializes with helping companies scale efficiently as they find product/market fit.
Prior to joining Runa, Michael was co-founded Octane Lending, a $1B+ point-of-sale financing company for passion purchases, where he was responsible for the overall GTM strategy and customer acquisition. He continues to serve on Octane Lending's Board of Directors.
Michael also previously worked in corporate strategy at Capital One.
