Education

Miles graduated from Yale University with a bachelor's in computer science. 

Miles is chair of the board of tech nonprofit Curious Learning, which focuses on childhood literacy via open source software. He has served on the board of other nonprofits including Yale New Haven Hospital and Venture for America. He co-founded the Yale Humanist Community and was founding board member for MakeHaven, New Haven's makerspace. He is a husband, father of four children, and a book addict.

Professional

Miles Lasater is CEO and Founder of Purpose Built, a venture studio focused on human potential. Miles previously co-founded Higher One (IPO, 2010), SeeClickFix (acq 2019), and OneUni. He is a Kauffman Fellow and formerly a VC at F-Prime Capital.

Higher One was a fast-growing fintech company that served 2M+ college students and 1200+ higher ed campuses. He was founder and senior executive taking the company from idea to $200mil+ revenue, 750+ employees and public listing on NYSE. Miles served as the public company board chair and is experienced in corporate governance and M&A transactions.

Miles has invested in dozens of pre/see-stage ventures, taught a class on venture capital at Yale University and was previously on the board of Venture for America. He is on the board of ConnCorp, a $150M+ economic development project in the Dixwell neighborhood of New Haven. He is Chair of the board of Curious Learning, a tech nonprofit.

He has ideated inside 3 other ventures studios and is a GSSN Studio Launch Program graduate. Miles is the host of the podcast Startups for Good and blogs at VenturePatterns.com.
