Nmachi Jidenma’s life mission is to drive transformational impact and bend the arc of human progress. She was drawn to the tech industry because of technology's power to transform the lives of people and communities. Over the years, this led her to take on various partnerships and leadership roles at WhatsApp, Facebook and PayPal. As a strategy and business development leader, she forged alliances with global industry leaders, helped bring new products to market and designed dynamic ecosystems of partners and developers. Over time, she increasingly found herself advising founders on go-to-market topics. This inspired her to transition to the venture industry by joining Sequoia Capital as a Senior Director.

She was drawn to General Catalyst’s commitment to help build enduring companies that create financial and societal impact and in 2022, she joined the GC team.

Outside of work, Nmachi enjoys traveling, reading, and making music. She is also a trustee of her family’s foundation, which advances leadership, mentorship, and socio-economic development in Africa.

Nmachi Jidenma works on the investment team at the venture capital firm, General Catalyst where she partners with exceptional founders to help build enduring companies. Prior to joining General Catalyst, Nmachi was a Senior Director at Sequoia Capital. Prior to Sequoia Capital, Nmachi served as a global strategy and business development lead at WhatsApp Inc, the world’s leader in mobile messaging with over 2 billion monthly users. She has a Masters in Applied Economics from Cornell University.
