Noa Maiz

Ainhoa earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and BAs in Economics and Political Science from Emory University. She also spent a year studying at the London School of Economics. Basque by ethnicity, she grew up playing in the Oregon pine tree forests and makes frequent visits to see family in San Sebastian, Spain.

Ainhoa "Noa" Maiz is a Senior Principal at Section 32 where she focuses on early-stage investments in enterprise technologies, cybersecurity and fintech. Drawn to the dynamism of the startup ecosystem, Ainhoa is passionate about company-building and loves partnering with founders to commercialize and scale new technologies.

Section 32 is a venture fund with a mission to accelerate the discovery, development and distribution of revolutionary technologies that improve the human condition. Founded by Bill Maris in 2017, the fund invests at the frontiers of technology and healthcare broadly. Prior to Section 32, Ainhoa was at M12 (Microsoft's venture fund) where she contributed to over thirty technology investments globally, of which several have gone on to become unicorns. Ainhoa started her career with five years as an operator, working in Corporate Finance and supporting engineering teams at Intel Corporation. In her tenure there, she held several roles of increasing responsibility and oversaw valuation, reporting and forecasting for nearly $1b of working capital.
