Rodney Appiah

Rodney was born and raised in the UK to Ghanaian parents who emigrated to the UK in the 1980s. He holds a Bsc in Economics from Royal Holloway, University of London and lives in London with his beautiful wife and 3 sons, aged 6 and 1 (twins). Rodney enjoys reading, politics, Liverpool and music. He is passionate about faith and making meaningful change in his community.

Rodney Appiah is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cornerstone VC, an early stage fund focused on a ‘people first’ investment strategy, investing at pre-seed and seed stage in UK technology businesses led by diverse founding teams. The fund focuses on SaaS, marketplaces and platforms that seek to change the way we live, work and play. 

Prior to founding Cornerstone VC, Rodney held roles at BGF, Foresight Group and Merrill Lynch and has more than 15 years of financial services, TMT and Consumer experience across UK and Europe.

An experienced board director, Rodney is a Non Executive Director of the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA), the largest UK trade body for angel and early stage investing, and Conduit Connect, a direct investment platform that focuses on connecting global high impact businesses with mission aligned investors. Rodney also holds committee roles at Innovate UK (Innovation Loans Credit Committee) and the London Chamber of Commerce (Black Business Association).
