Rudy Quagliuolo

Rudy graduated in economics and finance at Bocconi University of Milan; while attending his third year, he spent a semester at University of New South Wales in Sydney as a foreign exchange student.

Rudy is Investment Director and GP at Principia, one of the leading venture and growth capital firms in Italy. Principia invests in life sciences startups and SMEs in Italy and Europe. Based in Milan, Rudy is actively involved in sourcing new deals and analyzing business plans for Principia's Utopia fund as well as contributing to managing Principia's operations and fundraising.

Previously, Rudy was portfolio manager for Healthy Brand Builders, a US consulting firm for food and beverage startups. Before HBB, Rudy was Vice President at Emcor Securities, a New York-based financial risk management and investment advisor, where he specialized in the design and development of customized investment allocation. He contributed to the setup of Emcor's alternative investments, including investments in US timberland properties, with an emphasis on full forestry ecosystem services. While at Emcor, Rudy co- founded Vertical Water, an innovative beverage startup in the emerging tree water category.

Rudy started his professional career as financial analyst for Kairos Partners, an Italian leading independent asset management company.

Rudy is serving his fellowship at Principia SGR as a member of Class 24 under the mentorship of Salvo Mizzi (Class 16), Innovation General Counsel at Fondazione Amaldi, and Paolo Basilico, CEO of Kairos.
