Scott Bernstein

Scott earned his MBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his BA from the University of Colorado Boulder. Scott was named as a member of St. Louis Business Journal's "40 Under 40" and is a Kauffman Fellow. Scott volunteers as a Board Director for two non-profit organizations: Crown Center for Senior Living and Trailnet. Scott also contributes time as an Investor-in-Residence at Washington University's Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurship and Arch Grants.

Scott has dedicated much of his career to innovative businesses on both the investor and operator sides. Most recently, Scott was Chief Financial Officer at Freely Pet, a St. Louis, MO based pet food startup simplifying the pet food buying experience. In his role, he managed both the financial and technology functions, ensuring the business leveraged an optimal combination of best practices and automation to position it for scale.

Prior to Freely, Scott was a member of the founding team of $130m Series A stage venture capital firm Lewis & Clark Ventures. He also held roles including Director of Operations at Capital Innovators, an early stage technology fund and accelerator program, and Director of Strategy at Coolfire Solutions, a mobile software development shop specializing in teams operating in complex environments.

Scott built the foundation for his career in Chicago where he held roles with Citadel Solutions (acquired by Northern Trust), boutique investment management firm Mainstreet Advisors, and BMO Harris Bank.
