Sonia Weymuller

Sonia was born in Paris and grew up in Indonesia, Japan, the US, and France. She holds a BA from Yale University and an MSc from the London School of Economics.

She is a Charter Member and Board Member for The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE)'s Dubai chapter, serves as the UAE Director for the Yale Alumni Schools Committee, and is a Board Member and Mentor for e7 Daughters of the Emirates. Sonia has a particular interest in supporting companies and endeavors that choose to harness the power of technology to address economic, social, and environmental challenges.

Sonia is co-founder and general partner at VentureSouq, leading their climate investment practice. Previously, she was an Investment Consultant for Acumen’s KawiSafi Fund, worked in Commercial Development at Turner Broadcasting in Dubai, with Viacom’s Emerging Markets Strategy Group and with Microsoft’s Strategy and M&A team in London. Sonia is a Jury member for the Cartier Women’s Initiative, a mentor for the Atlantic Council and Georgetown University WIn Fellowship and an Expert for wildlife conservation-focused tech platform The Ark. She serves as the UAE Director for the Yale Alumni Schools Committee and as a selected member of the Yale President’s Council on International Activities. Sonia holds a B.A. from Yale University, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and is a Kauffman Fellow.

Sonia is a member of Class 24 serving her fellowship at Venture Souq under the mentorship of Pule Taukobong (Class 19), Managing Partner at CRE Venture Capital, and Vani Kola, Managing Director of Kalaari Capital.
