Trevor Thomas-Uribe
Trevor holds an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business, an M. Eng. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.S. from Morgan State University. He is passionate about Capoeira, which he has trained since he was 8 and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, where he recently received his blue belt. He is also into motorcycles and most forms of visual art.
I graduated from Morgan State, MIT and The Darden School of Business, and have been investing in early stage diverse founders since 2012. After a Kaufman Fellowship and rapid success investing at the Wonderful Company, where I shepherded investments including Kite Pharma, and Dupont Fabros, I co-founded a fund called Cross Culture Ventures that has produced meaningful returns for investors. While at CCV I backed companies including Gimlet Media, MessageVes, Skurt, Sidestep, Hingeto, Wonderschool, Vumi, Thrive Market Mayvenn and others.
I spent the past 5 years in operating roles, first at enterprise hardware business Density (with the whole Bread team), where I served on the growth team and as an advisor until 2022. Concurrently, I served as a Scout for Kleiner Perkins and I helped workforce business Bitwise Industries to raise significant capital, expand nationally and hire a large diverse team, as VP of investments, only to see the company destroyed by terrible decisions made in isolation by its founders.
With a renewed desire to build things that matter with people who matter to me, I'm excited to be building Bread with long-time friends.
Trevor served his fellowship at Roll Global under the mentorship of Bert Steir. He is a member of Class 17.
