Varun has an MBA from the Indian School of Business and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Delhi.

Varun Malhotra, Partner at Quona Capital, has over 15 years of venture investing experience across technology, financial services and impact. Varun co-leads Quona’s investments across South and SE Asia. Quona is the leading emerging markets fintech for inclusion VC with ~$800mn in AUM and 75+ investments across LatAm, India & SE Asia, MENA & sub-Saharan Africa. Quona has backed companies like IndiaMart (India, IPO: $2.1bn MCap), Creditas (Brazil: $4bn EV), Konfio (Mexico: $1.3bn EV), Wasoko (Africa: $625mn EV) & Coins.ph (SE Asia: M&A GoJek). Quona’s latest Fund III ($332mn) was oversubscribed and backed by marquee LPs. Varun is a Kauffman Fellow and is a Forbes 30 under 30 honouree for Venture Capital in Asia.

As a member of Class 25, Varun is serving his fellowship at Quona Capital under the mentorship of Dr Ashish Gupta (Class 7), Jonathan Whittle and Sham Sandhu.
